McDaniel, and Susan Pinal presented to students at Sutter Middle School in Folsom about WTS, careers in transportation and their personal journeys to their current careers.
On Monday, May 20th, WTS Sacramento’s Transportation YOU program presented at Arcade Middle School throughout the day. Co-chairs Anna Johnson and Jameela Flordeliz
were joined by volunteers Candice Mitchell, Fabiola Lopez, and Lizette Zavala. The day involved speaking to each STEM elective class about WTS, Transportation YOU, career possibilities with the STEM field and examples of projects volunteers are currently working
on. After the presentation, the volunteers performed an activity with the students which involved learning about designing highway interchanges. The goal of this activity was to show students the planning and design process involved with connecting one roadway
to another using mock ramps in order to get from point A to B.

As environmental concerns become more pronounced, Europe will likely seek to balance its import needs with sustainability goals, which could drive innovations in logistics, renewable energy, and circular economy practices.
